Scene Enough Winter?

As the February snow-melt cranked along, the Lens had enough energy to catch some lingering ice on the Housatonic River. Evidently there was enough ice to support an entire diving rescue squad practicing their under-ice diving skills.

As the New Year set in, so did more snow, ice and nature's attempt to stop babbling brooks. As the lens pulled him closer to forming crystal formations, the lens jockey's knees, elbows and snow suit got wetter and wetter and...

Pilgrimage to the Tree Farm!

Our nearby tree farm boasts 6 species of pine, with over 750,000 two to fifteen foot sprigs wondering if they will be chosen for enjoyment over the holidays. For those lucky enough to be taken in, a new sprig will be planted in the Spring to replace it as part of a renewable cycle. As predictable as Christmas, the Lens traverses the sprawling 200 acres of tree hills, with saw in hand searching the perfect catch.

CT Chill was scene before Thanksgiving

10 degree weather set in a week before Thanksgiving, and the curious Lens inspected the fallen leaves, a babbling brook and a glimpse of what was about to come next. Like the Lens freezes time, the cold works to stop the water in its tracks.

Where's the Lens Now?

As if hibernating, the Lens appeared lost in a long Winter's nap. But as a February thaw began to uncover lawn lost since Christmas, evident now the Lens driver is culprit of snoozing away from the keyboard. As the cold set in, it was the Lens keeping warm by the fire.

The [Great] Pumpkin Farm

As predictable as Linus seeks the "Great Pumpkin" in the pumkin patch each year, RobRiceNow's family hunts for our pumpkins at the local Jones Family Farm, here in Shelton, CT.

This Farm started producing animals and crops in 1850 and is today run by the Great-Grandson of the Founder, and hosts seasonal crops including Strawberries, Blueberries, Pumpkins, Grapes, and Chrsitmas Trees. The Farm's history can be found at: http://www.jonesfamilyfarms.com/. Even Mark Marusewski, living 45 minutes closer to NYC, makes the Annual pilgrimage to this Farm to hunt for his Chrsitmas tree (this Farm is Famous in this region).

Friend to Caitlyn (Caroline), an aspiring photographer, helped to relieve RobRiceNow from behind the lens by capturing him in front of the Lens Now. Son Matthew (another aspiring lens freak), caught Rob carrying as many pumpkins as he could carry to save some dough (pay for each or $29 for as much as you can carry).

Fall Foliage Now!
