Maid 'O the Mist

The Maid of the Mist boat ride is a "must do". They equip you with blue garbage bags they call "rain gear", and everyone wears it, but it doesn't keep you very dry at all. The boat make a scene of all of the Falls' and Canada as it heads up into the middle of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. As the boat reaches the Horseshoe, you can hear and feel the full throttle of the engines, yet you sit idle taking a shower. The boat can no longer move forward because it is fighting extremely turbulent water that has fallen 300 feet from the brink of the Falls. In free fall and upon crashing into the lower river, the water is infused with oxygen and by the massive volume, the water appears to be "boiling." The boat sways to and fro; what a thrill!
In this post, Sheryl and Natalie enjoy the scenes, Matt awaits a torrential shower (that shot from 2006), and Caitlyn & Caroline embrace as if they were happy to be back on solid ground again.

these shots remind me of my grade school trip to the falls... we went on the maid of the mist when the rain gear was black, heavy, rubber and very stinky!

Good memory on the nasty black moldy, stinky, clammy raingear. I had buddies who worked at these venues and they bought their own clean raingear.
